Production Team Lead

Position Overview The Team Lead’s primary responsibilities include the those of the Inspection Operator Level 1 through Level 3 as needed. The Team Lead is trained and capable of maintaining day-to-day production operations within the Inspection Operator team. The Team Lead is capable of supporting the Shift Supervisor primarily and/or performing duties carried out by the Shift Supervisor as required. The Team Lead reports to the Shift Supervisor and receives training-related guidance as needed. This individual is expected to perform job responsibilities according to the company’s core values and in accordance with applicable employment law best practices. Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the success of the organization Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws Carries out supervisory responsibilities in Supervisor’s absence in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Competencies: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to train others, including use of multiple approaches and ability to assess effectiveness of training Proactive communication with Supervisor and Operations Manager regarding daily production efficiency/status Proactive communication with management and partner departments, as appropriate Knowledge of current production SOPs, forms, procedures, and practices Pull reports, assess data, and take appropriate actionsProficient with IQMS and scan gun navigation Mastery of all Inspection Operator (1), Trainer (2), and related responsibilities Ability to research and solve routine issues and problems, including inventory Strong work ethic / Motivated / Dependable. Able to work independently and with minimal oversight / Self-Directed Willing to learn Patient Forklift Certification Commitment to 24-hour team Required Qualifications Education, Training and/or Experience Proficient in job functions of Operators Level 1-2 High School Diploma or GED required One to three years related experience and/or training preferred Training experience Strongly preferred Manufacturing or Plastics experience preferred Leadership or supervisory experience preferred Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, or customers, of organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
