Assignment Details

• Duration: 13 Weeks
• Schedule: Nights
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Hours: 36 hours/week (3x12s)
• Local Candidates: Not accepted within 50 miles of the facility

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Current AHA BLS Certification (Required)
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (Required)
• ACLS Certification (Preferred)
• Active RN license in good standing

Unit Overview

The Fifth Floor Gastrointestinal (GI)/COVID Medical/Surgical Unit at Northside Hospital Forsyth is a 34-bed acute care unit specializing in the care of gastrointestinal and COVID patients. The unit serves adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations and consists entirely of private patient rooms with telemetry monitoring capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical/Surgical patients
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including telemetry monitoring
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience caring for GI and COVID patient populations
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Experience in telemetry-capable Medical/Surgical units
