This position is responsible for assessing, monitoring, recording, and reporting symptoms or changes in patient conditions. RNs are required to maintain accurate patient reports and medical histories. They perform mental and physical assessments, administer medication and treatment to patients, and provide assistance to patients with daily activities. Observation of patient reactions is essential. RNs manage activities with the therapeutic milieu, including daily groups and education, and provide 1:1 support with individual patients. Collaboration with other members of the treatment team ensures the best possible care for patients. Individualized treatment plans must be completed for each patient upon admission and ongoing with the multidisciplinary treatment team. Nursing care activities for patients are planned, implemented, and coordinated. Therapies are conducted in accordance with patient diagnoses and needs. Treatment interventions are performed following physician orders, such as medication administration and medical treatment orders. RNs collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and outside health and social agencies. Efficient discharge plans are provided, and accurate histories obtained at admission. All required documentation relevant to patients must be completed in a timely and efficient manner, including admission paperwork, assessments, and progress notes. Quality of care is assured by adhering to therapeutic standards and measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and regulatory standards.
