This position is a hands on and challenging position for anyone who likes to organize, manage and streamline processes. The Assistant Production Manager will assist alongside Superintendents and Production Manager to organize, manage, stage and load materials as needed for upcoming jobs. They will also work over a small team to accomplish the companies goals of organizing and staging a large commercial lay down yard and assist in our welding and tool shop. This person cannot be afraid of a hard challenge and works well under pressure within a fast-pace company.
Minimum requirementsMust be 18 years of age
Valid driver's licenseHigh School diploma or GED
Must meet all medical fitness for duty requirements for the position
Strong ability to perform well under pressure and in stressful situations and circumstances
Ability to understand our install schedule and adjust to fast moving changes.
Must possess logistical thinking, critical thinking and multitasking skills
Ability to successfully collaborate in a team environment while prioritizing tasks and instructions
Ability to work autonomously and adapt to changing situations
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Must have the ability to stay alert and prepared for unusual conditions or circumstances
Demonstrate good teamwork and maintain positive interactions with others
Demonstrate strong problem solving, decision making and planning skills.
Dedication to getting the job done while meeting established standards of quality, safety and client satisfaction
Demonstrates a proven track record in troubleshooting and problem solving
Forklift and machinery experience PREFERRED.
Willing to work OTPass background check (no felonies or sex offenses)

Reliable transportationNeeds to be able to withstand working outside in all weather conditions
Essential Duties Balance team and individual responsibilities
Examine and inspect work progress and equipment to verify safety and ensure that specifications are met
Estimate material and worker requirements to complete jobs, supervising, training and scheduling employees
Track and measure team performance to ensure efficient use of labor and materials; report information daily.
Coordinate tasks for the completion of operations while working with the team to ensure successful completion of schedule
Substitute for workers during worker absence
Assist workers in resolving problems and evaluating performance of direct reports for decisions concerning continued employment and promotion
Directs work in loading and unloading materials and in the use and care of machines and equipment.
Completes all yard paperwork and documentation of incoming and outgoing material in a timely manner.
Coordinates and inspects specified quantity and quality of shipments coming and going from the yard.
Responsible for loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
Counts and reconciles incoming and outgoing materials.
Assists all customers in a courteous and friendly manner
Other duties may be required as needed
Experience/Education Requires 1 to 3 years related yard or distribution center experience plus 1 year of lead experience required.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must be able to do heavy lifting.
Forklift experience required.
Must have basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
Must be able to work as a team member.
Previous supervisory experienceExperience in a construction based or manufacturer environment a plus.
Knowledge/Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to contribute to a continually improving atmosphere with fresh ideas and insights
Strong interpersonal and organizations skills
Basic computer skills required including all Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
