A night shift pharmacist opportunity is available at a 300-bed community hospital near Helotes, TX. This contract position offers a 13-week assignment starting ASAP, providing a structured 7 on/7 off schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The hospital utilizes Cerner for its IT system, supporting efficient pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders accurately and promptly.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow efficiency and compliance.
- Consult with physicians and nurses to optimize patient medication therapy.
- Apply pharmacokinetic principles to ensure safe and effective drug dosing.
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Pharmacist license.
- Experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting.
- Familiarity with Cerner or similar pharmacy IT systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts and exercise sound clinical judgment.
Location:
- Helotes, TX (serving a San Antonio community hospital).
Schedule:
- 12-hour night shifts (7 PM to 7 AM).
- 7 days on, followed by 7 days off.
