Job Description
Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in postpartum care and be adept in handling the complexities associated with newborn care.

Shift Details

• Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Yes - unless specified otherwise

Patient Ratios

• 1:3 patient ratio

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a postpartum or mother-baby unit
• BLS certification required
• No previous first-timers accepted
• Local candidates are welcomed; pending licenses are not accepted
• RTO Restrictions: 1 week maximum

Core Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to postpartum patients and their newborns
• Perform assessments, monitor vital signs, and conduct glucose screenings
• Administer baths, manage complex feeding, and provide phototherapy as needed
• Administer medications and manage various infusions including magnesium, insulin, PCA/PCEA, and heparin

Work Environment

• Floating within the hospital may be required; however, floating to sister hospitals is not permitted
• Scrub Color: Any color - scrubs provided for OR personnel
• Charting System: EPIC
• Parking costs apply

Additional Information

• Guaranteed hours may be affected by low census; healthcare providers may be called off without charge or placed on-call
• Block schedule accommodation is not available, unless specified otherwise in the posting
