Primary Duties Performs Breast imaging studies to include mammography procedures and assists with needle biopsies, localizations and aspirations and may be required to perform breast imaging examinations in the department and ancillary areas. Adheres to the policies and procedures that apply to the performance of obtaining breast imaging studies, including performing correct exam, including laterality, on correct patient at the time requested. Ensures that radiation safety precautions are taken. Provides basic information to patients and/or families about procedures to be performed and can answer questions if asked. Coordinates, communicates, and collaborates with Patient Financial Associates that register radiology exams to minimize delays and potential safety issues for the outpatient population. Assists with the upkeep of radiographic equipment, adheres to all related safety requirements and reports need for equipment repairs. Coordinates and collaborates with Technical Aides to ensure efficient room turnover. Ensures timely completion of all exams through tracking, scanning and other technical workflow as related to Radiology Information System (RIS), Enterprise Radiology Solutions (ERS) and Enterprise Electronic Record (EMR). Participates in orientation and other opportunities for learning as delegated for the department, other Hospital staff and students. Qualifications Associate's degree or Certificate (before Jan.1, 2015) in Radiologic Technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE), Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or Medical Education and Training Campus (METC). 3-4 years experience with invasive procedures (needle locs, contrast, biopsy).
