Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Neurological (ICU Neuro) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized critical care to adult patients with neuro diagnoses, including stroke, brain injury, post-surgical neurosurgery, and trauma. Candidates will need to bring their license on the first day. The position requires working rotating day and night shifts, with 8- or 12-hour shifts, and a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Location: Madison, WI
• Schedule: Rotating shifts; 8/12 hour shifts from 0700-1930 and 1900-0730; minimum 36 hours per week
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, RN license required; AHA only
• Required Qualifications: RN license, minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years, experience in charting with Epic, travel experience required, basic arrhythmia experience, ability to pass telemetry test prior to start, and adherence to vaccination requirements (flu vaccine required unless medical or religious exemption applies)
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level II experience, previous charge nurse experience, trauma Level I experience
• Additional Information: Must have experience in ICP or ventriculostomy, including external ventricular drain (EVD) management, and be comfortable with hemodynamic monitoring and specialized procedures such as hypothermia protocols and ICP monitoring. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry exam in two attempts with strict passing criteria, including identifying lethal rhythms and arrhythmias. The role involves patient populations with neuro diagnoses, including stroke, post-surgical neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury.
