Job Description Fabricate misc. steel pipe and mechanical supports according to shop drawings or engineering details utilizing FCAW or SMAW welding processes and perform these duties in a safe and timely manner with the highest quality possible. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform duties using FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) or SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding). Perform welds in flat (1G), horizontal (2G), and vertical (3G) positions; overhead (4G) is a plus. Read and understand shop fabrication drawings and engineering details. Fabricate and assemble weldments from shop drawings and sketches. Ensure weldments are in conformance with AWS D1.1. Be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand, and reach repetitively. Operate various equipment and machinery including grinders, saws, drill press, and forklift. Keep a clean and organized workplace. Utilize personal protective equipment such as masks, welding helmets, welding sleeves, gloves, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs. Convert fractions to decimal equivalents on the spot as needed. Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace. Key Skills AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Certification with FCAW and SMAW Further Qualifications The successful candidate must pass a background check.
