School Based Behavior Technician

Location: Spring Lake, NC

Contract Length: 2025-2026 School Year

Position Summary:

The Behavior Technician works to facilitate educational and behavioral services with children and adults with special needs and collaborates with school professionals and other behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and instructional strategies as directed by supervising staff.

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with behavioral and developmental needs.

• Collect and record data on student behavior and skill acquisition.

• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support student progress.

• Support the development of communication, social, and self-help skills through structured and naturalistic teaching methods.

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards.

• Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

Minimum Requirements:

• One year recent behavior technician & classroom experience required

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Two (2) years of pediatric experience preferred

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
