Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Level III NICU position requiring a TN or compact license and a minimum of 2 years of Level III NICU experience.

Details

• bed level 3 NICU housed in a freestanding children's hospital
• Cares for neonates from 22 weeks gestation to term, including a high preemie population and surgical patients
• All patients arrive via the facility's active transport team
• Provides respiratory support including high frequency oscillator and jet ventilation, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Float to PICU and general peds floors for patients under 2 years old
• Uses Omnicell medication system, transitioning to Pyxis in September
• Documentation completed in Meditech

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, NRP Advanced, and STABLE
• Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• ,VV therral therral therapy, arterial line management, and central line care
• Skilled in umbilical artery and vein catheter (UAC/UVC) management
• Administers emergency medications including vasopressors, anti-seizure drugs, antibiotics, and surfactants
• Performs neonatal-specific care such as APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and developmental care
• Manages complex respiratory cases including ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, and nitric oxide therapy
• Provides care for conditions such as NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, neonatal sepsis, and seizure disorders
• Supports patient families with breastfeeding and feeding management (bottle, breast, gavage)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Travelers who have oriented at this facility within the past year are not required to reorient
