Marketing Manager (m/f/o) - Chemistry journals

We are seeking a strategic, data-driven Marketing Manager to lead the promotion, visibility, and author engagement strategies for some of our portfolio of chemistry and life science academic journals. This role focuses on driving manuscript submissions, enhancing journal reputation, and supporting editors, societies, and researchers across global markets. Thieme is a leading supplier of information and services contributing to the improvement of healthcare and health. Department: Marketing Start: As soon as possible Working hours: Full-time (38h/Week) Your new passion Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that grow manuscript submissions, readership, and citations. Collaborate with publishers, Editors-in-Chief and editorial boards to shape strategic priorities. Track KPIs including marketing channel performance, submission trends, conversion rates, downloads, and marketing attribution. Analyse journal performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth. Support society relationships through reports, presentations, and marketing plans. Optimize author outreach content, onboarding materials, submission guides, nurture emails, and workflow communications. You inspire us with this Experience in scholarly publishing (typically 3–5+ years). Ability to manage multiple journals and stakeholders in a matrix environment. Strong understanding of the academic publishing workflows, Open Access models. Excellent writing and communication skills tailored to scientific audiences. Proficiency with digital marketing tools (email automation, CRM, analytics, academic social networks).
