This is a 12-month contract position working in Plano, TX (Onsite). We are offering a pay rate up to $44 per hour W2 based on skill set. Duration: 12-months Mechanical Engineer II responsible for designing and developing heavy structural modifications for aircraft modernization projects, applying CAD tools and aerospace design principles to deliver high‑quality airframe structures. Works within a multidisciplinary team to ensure performance, safety, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Research and analyze mechanical requirements for structural modifications Design and model aircraft components using SolidWorks or Catia Develop detailed CAD drawings and specifications Conduct simulations and analysis (FEA, CFD, thermal) to validate designs Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate mechanical systems Prepare and review documentation for certification and compliance Assist in prototype testing and performance verification Update and improve product designs throughout lifecycle Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline 3+ years of experience in heavy structural modifications and aerospace design Proficiency in SolidWorks or Catia CAD tools is a must Experience with engineering simulation tools such as FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T Experience in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams Preferred Skills Understanding of applying and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5 Experience in engineering simulation such as FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis Background in Aerospace and Defense Industry knowledge of mechanical design principles, parametric design, model‑based definition, material selection, manufacturing, and production processes #J-18808-Ljbffr
