Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Shifts: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM / 6:30 PM–7:00 AM | Every third weekend required (Friday and Saturday nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical and Orthopedic unit with a patient population including total joint replacements, COPD, diabetes, CHF, sepsis, pneumonia, oncology, fractures, and behavioral health co-morbidities
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5, performing hourly rounding and conducting bedside shift reports
• Administer and monitor set-rate and titratable drips including heparin, IV antibiotics, antithrombotics, and narcotics as ordered
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care technicians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Float to Progressive Care Unit and behavioral health unit as needed
• Complete unit-specific orientation including classroom training and on-unit shift experience

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Ability to pass a unit-specific open-book skills examination with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
• Compliance with facility fingernail policy — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in Medical Surgical or Orthopedic nursing
• Familiarity with post-surgical care including total joint replacement patients
• Experience working with patients who have behavioral health, substance use, or complex social needs
• Self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable in a dynamic clinical environment
