Maintenance Mechanic - Multiple Levels Based on Experience Are you a hands‑on problem solver with a passion for keeping things running smoothly? We’re seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to be a vital part of our team, ensuring peak performance of our plant and facility equipment. Shift Availability 8 pm–8 am (Level 2 Mechanic) 8 am–8 pm (Level 2 Mechanic) 7 am–3 pm (Level 3 Mechanic) Responsibilities Install, diagnose, analyze, maintain, modify, repair and/or rebuild a variety of plant and facility equipment. Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including checking, cleaning, and repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems and ensure machines run smoothly and efficiently. Assist production personnel in change‑over and set‑ups. Dismantle defective machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas or to install new or repaired parts. Qualifications Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic problems; knowledge of machines and tools, designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck (PIT) license. Demonstrated proficiency with the English language for effective training and ongoing communication about safety and quality issues. Ability to read and follow basic blueprints, manuals, and mechanical and electrical schematics (preferred). Level2 Candidates Must Bring Three (3) years of experience performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair, or comparable trade school/training experience. Special knowledge in use of hand‑tools and power‑tools. Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot moderately complex problems. Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature and pressure gauges. Proficiency in reading and following basic blueprints, manuals, and mechanical and electrical schematics. Experience operating test equipment and/or software. Working knowledge of automated controls. Ability to operate PIT, hoists and cranes, and maintain PIT certification. Level3 Candidates Must Bring Five (5) years of experience performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair, or comparable trade school/training experience. Special knowledge in use of hand‑tools, power‑tools, and specialized knowledge in lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) and introductory electrical knowledge, including basic wiring principles and basic electrical troubleshooting. Ability to perform root‑cause analysis, compare and investigate information, and recommend and implement resolutions. Advanced mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex problems, including knowledge of machines and tools, designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Advanced understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature and pressure gauges. Understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to inspect and repair or replace components. Experience using Microsoft Office, including modifying basic reports, documents, and spreadsheets in MS Word and MS Excel. Experience operating test equipment and/or software. Preferred Qualifications Paper converting, chemical/plastics processing and/or packaging industrial experience. Vocational, Technical, or Associate degree in Machine Tool, Machine Maintenance, Industrial Electrician, Electro‑Mechanics, Mechatronics Technology, Automation Controls, Robotics or related field. Experience in electrical and mechanical trades such as HVAC, PLC, and CNC.
