Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Nurse Lead for a Surgery unit charge position in a Level III trauma center, requiring CA RN licensure, ACLS/BLS/PALS, and 2+ years of charge experience.

Details

• Surgery unit within an acute care, county-designated trauma center
• Day shift, 5x8s, Monday through Friday, 0500 to 1700 with rotating schedule and start times
• No call requirements
• Charge nurse / unit-based leadership role supervising nursing and ancillary staff

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of charge/lead nursing experience required
• Trauma center experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/experience required
• Master's degree and clinical specialty or nursing administration certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of specialty experience required for OR positions

Additional Information

• Provides unit-based leadership collaborating with Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and staff
• Supervises and directs nursing and ancillary personnel activities
• Coordinates care plans and conferences with healthcare team, patients, and families
• Rounds on patients to assess care needs and solicit feedback on quality of services
• Develops strategies to improve patient, family, and physician satisfaction
• Investigates and resolves patient care and operational issues
• Local candidates accepted with no radius rule; local rates match travel rates
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested RTO will be automatically declined
• Candidates with a prior adverse licensure action will not be considered
