Job Description
Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12 hours from 18:45 to 07:15. Every other weekend required.

Assignment Details

36 or 48-hour contracts accepted. Longer contracts of 13-26 weeks possible. 7 days of RTO maximum per contract, no blocked scheduling requests accepted except for weekend blocks. Must be able to work holidays.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience required.
• Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Experience with medication and documentation systems such as Pyxis and EPIC.
• Charge experience preferred.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a range of diagnoses including diabetes, respiratory issues, and post-surgical recovery.
• Monitor patient conditions and administer medications as prescribed.
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records.
• Participate in shift hand-offs and provide updates regarding patient status.
• Participate in emergency response as needed during catastrophic events.

Compliance / Notes

Contract staff will be assigned to work in emergency situations, including but not limited to storm teams and mass casualty events. Specific orientation and training requirements to be provided upon hiring.
