Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician

Process and maintain proper care of all surgical instruments and equipment
Inspect, evaluate, clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments
Maintain quality control and documentation records of the sterilization process
Distribute designated supplies and equipment throughout the medical center
Float between decontamination, assembly, and sterilization departments

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician

CRCST or CBSPD certification
Experience with SPM Tracking system
Minimum of 1.5 years of sterile processing experience
