About the Role

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President, Life Sciences Underwriter to join their team. This market-facing role is pivotal in underwriting and expanding a portfolio of complex life sciences business. The successful candidate will be responsible for both new and renewal underwriting, with a focus on risk selection, pricing, and overall account strategy. A key aspect of the position is the development of strong relationships with retail and wholesale brokers to drive new business opportunities and ensure profitable portfolio growth. Applicants must have a minimum of 7 years' commercial insurance underwriting experience, with a specific requirement for direct life sciences underwriting experience. A background in underwriting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, clinical research, and related life sciences risks is strongly preferred. The role demands a professional with a proven track record in developing broker relationships, producing profitable new business, and managing an assigned book or territory. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing the complexities of life sciences underwriting and be instrumental in supporting the continued expansion of the company's life sciences platform.
