Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (36 hours/week)

Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) – a nationally recognized public health system – is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry inpatient service at Somerville Hospital. The CHA Center of Excellence for Child and Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Care provides a continuum of patient‑and family‑centered care for diverse youth with mental health needs and includes a 12‑bed neurodevelopmental unit. Responsibilities 0.9FTE; 11:30 pm‑8 am weekdays, with every other weekend 8 pm‑8:30 am. MNA Somerville Union Perform admissions to the child, adolescent, and neurodevelopmental units, including physical examinations Perform clinical assessments and evaluations Plan, implement, and revise treatment in consultation with multidisciplinary teams and with community agencies as appropriate Complete patient chart documentation as required by all pertinent governing bodies in a timely manner Demonstrate ability to manage emergency situations in a prompt, precise, and professional manner Demonstrate expertise in nonviolent crisis prevention and management All responsibilities will be consistent with the scope of practice acts governing health care in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Qualifications and Requirements Minimum of two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner with current experience treating children and adolescents Current inpatient or psychiatric emergency setting experience with youth preferred A Master’s degree (Nursing preferred) with a specialization in psychiatric mental health nursing or a relevant clinical area Current Massachusetts licensure authorizing practice in an expanded role as a Psychiatric Nurse Clinical Specialist and authorization including prescriptive authority Maintains current Basic Life Support “C” Certification; Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing by the American Nursing Association Salary range is $61 – $111 per hour based on years of experience EEO Statement In keeping with federal, state and local laws, Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) policy forbids employees and associates from discriminating against anyone based on race, religion, color, gender, age, marital status, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, disability or any other characteristic protected by law.
