The undergraduate program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) and currently serves almost 900 students. The department also operates MS and PhD programs in construction management with in-person and online options. The selected candidate will be expected to excel in teaching and have excellent oral and written English communication skills. The individual selected for this position will be expected to teach at primarily at the undergraduate level, but some graduate courses could be assigned periodically, as departmental needs require. The selected candidate is also expected to conduct research and to secure external funding, establish an independent research program and publish in the areas of building science and construction management, for an emerging research institution. The candidate will also be expected to engage both undergraduate and graduate students in their research activities and to supervise graduate students. In addition, the selected candidate will participate in appropriate service activities at the program, department, university and professional levels. Required Qualifications Earned doctoral degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field. Undergraduate degree in Construction Management from an ACCE or ABET accredited institution, or in Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution, or a closely related field from a similarly accredited institution. Excellent oral and written English language skills. Preferred Qualifications Publication record in academic journals and proceedings. The potential for a viable externally funded research program. Three or more years of full-time work experience in a construction management or construction engineering discipline. Research and teaching expertise in one or more of the following areas: Fundamentals of concrete construction, means and methods. Construction equipment and methods. Construction contracts, risk and ethics. Earned construction industry certifications (i.e. Certified Professional Constructor (CPC), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), LEED -AP, DBIA Design-Build Professional, or related).
