Job Summary

SUMMARY

This role supports the operational and clinical needs of the Cancer Center Pharmacy, primarily within the infusion pharmacy setting. Responsibilities include oversight of sterile and hazardous drug compounding practices and verification of Beacon chemotherapy and supportive care treatment orders. The Pharmacist ensures medication orders are safe and appropriate; drugs are stored, prepared, and delivered to patient care areas according to generally accepted professional standards. Collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other staff to ensure safe and effective administration and monitoring of medications. Ensures compliance with relevant state and federal laws and regulations, The Joint Commission medication management standards, and Grady Health System (GHS) policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensure or license eligible (must obtain within 90 days of employment) in state of Georgia
• Doctor of Pharmacy and previous institutional pharmacy experience preferred
