Certified Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist – Labor & Delivery to support the surgical team during Labor & Delivery procedures by maintaining a sterile environment, preparing instruments and equipment, and assisting physicians during operative deliveries. When not participating in surgical cases, the Surgical Tech will provide additional patient care support within the Labor & Delivery unit. Candidates must have prior Labor & Delivery surgical experience and be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for Labor & Delivery surgical procedures. Assist surgeons by anticipating procedural needs and passing instruments while maintaining sterile technique. Ensure accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts throughout procedures. Follow infection prevention, standard precautions, and operating room safety protocols. Assist with patient positioning and maintain a safe surgical environment. Perform patient care duties when not assigned to surgical cases, including obtaining patient vital signs, adult venipuncture, assisting with post‑delivery patient care, restocking supplies, and preparing patient rooms. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the Labor & Delivery team to ensure efficient patient care. Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and quality assurance practices. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required. Previous Labor & Delivery surgical experience required. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods. Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, infection control, and patient safety. Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills. Location is Pompton Plains, NJ 07444. Pay Rate for Locals: $42 - $46 hourly. Pay Rate for Travelers: $2,100 - $2,150 Weekly.
