Litigation AttorneyWe are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join a Chicago-based practice. This opportunity is intentionally open to attorneys from a wide range of litigation backgrounds.Whether your experience is on the plaintiff or defense side, we are interested in speaking with attorneys who have developed strong litigation skills and are comfortable handling cases through the various stages of the litigation process.Litigation Backgrounds of InterestExperience may include one or more of the following:Civil LitigationCommercial & Business LitigationPersonal Injury and/or Workers CompInsurance DefenseConstruction LitigationReal Estate LitigationProfessional LiabilityEmployment LitigationPremises LiabilityProduct LiabilityMedical MalpracticeContract & Business DisputesOther complex civil litigation mattersCandidates do not need experience in all of these areas. We are primarily interested in strong litigators whose experience and skills can translate across different types of civil disputes.ResponsibilitiesDepending on experience, responsibilities may include:Managing litigation matters from inception through resolutionDrafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filingsHandling written discovery and document productionTaking and defending depositionsConducting legal research and developing case strategyAppearing for hearings, conferences, and oral argumentsWorking with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and other partiesNegotiating settlements and participating in mediationsPreparing matters for arbitration and trialHandling or assisting with trialsQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law schoolLicensed to practice in IllinoisPrior litigation experienceStrong legal research, writing, and advocacy skillsExperience handling substantive responsibility on litigation mattersAbility to manage cases independently while working collaboratively with other attorneysTrial experience is welcomed but not required.We are open to attorneys coming from different practice areas and litigation environments.
