Job DescriptionNovoplex, Where Packaging Innovation Meets Career Opportunities!Compensation: Pay range is $22.00 -$28.00 an hour (Based on Experience)- paid weekly $1 per hour as shift differential +$2 per hour for perfect attendance per pay periodShift: Both Night and Day ShiftsJob Summary: Under the general direction of the Extrusion Manager and designated Shift Supervisor, this position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure the safe and efficient utilization of manpower, machinery and materials to produce quality HDPE film. This position has multiple levels with advancement based on demonstrated Operator knowledge and ability/department developed criteria.Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:Understand and follow all JSA's and safety procedures/policiesSafely and efficiently set-up and operate extrusion lines to produce high quality HDPE filmOperate extrusion lines as needed in accordance with job safety analysis, standard operating procedures, quality procedures, and operator training to meet or exceed productivity requirements and minimize downtime and wasteEnsure that proper materials are being used in accordance with proceduresMonitor roll weights to ensure the correct gauge is maintained throughout the shiftAccurately navigates and inputs information in production management systemAssure proper processing and labeling of filmComplete daily production reportingOversees the safety performance and awareness of the departmentMaintains housekeeping to expected levelsEnsures consistent product quality for the department including, testing methods and use of process improvement toolsMaintains accurate materials records and adequate inventory of raw materialsResponsible for assisting and training department employees in the areas of safety, quality, production, technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, etc.Must lead by example by modeling fairness, consistency, and a high level of performance coupled with an exemplary work ethicOperates forklift as neededDiagnoses and completes intermediate level repairsMaintains and Pump materials from Railcars to the Silo(s)Other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Experience:High School diploma or equivalentAbility to work 12 hour day and night rotating shiftStrong computer and math skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word preferredDemonstrated mechanical/analytical skillsDemonstrated ability to work diplomatically and effectively overseeing the work of othersWork overtime, weekends, holidays as requiredSatisfactorily complete training courses as determined by managementPhysical Requirements (must be able to meet with or without accommodation):Sitting (Rarely)Standing (Constantly - 12 hours or more)Walking (Constantly - 12 hours or more)Lifting (Regularly/Constantly): 0-10 lbs.
