Medicaid Coordinator (Full-Time, Temporary)

Overview

Medicaid Coordinators conduct outbound contact to and receive inbound inquiries from Medicaid beneficiaries to assist with understanding of the Medicaid redetermination process, provide education about the features, functions, and benefits of their Medicaid coverage, and assist members with any barriers to accessing care.

They will also handle incoming calls from members going above and beyond to ensure Medicaid beneficiaries have the information they need to utilize their benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Make proactive outreach to members via telephone to provide education and assistance regarding the Medicaid benefits and the redetermination process

Respond to complex Medicaid beneficiary questions about plan benefits and accessing care.

Candidates must:

• Have knowledge and understanding of Medicaid eligibility, rules, and processes.
• Required, demonstrable experience and understanding of Medicaid including the Medicaid redetermination process.
• Efficiently manage the designated work lists
• Follow all regulatory guidelines, scripting and policies.
• Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of all state and regulatory guidelines by adhering to program requirements implemented by CMS (Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services).

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years working directly with Medicaid beneficiaries in one of the following capacities, processing Medicaid claims and answering beneficiary questions, Medicaid beneficiary customer service, or Medicaid redetermination processing with beneficiary interaction, or Medicaid beneficiary case manager experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes both remote and office-based requirements.
• Proficiency in daily, active use of Excel, CRM systems and the ability to learn other software as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred, experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
