About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing B2B services organization, is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist to manage full-cycle accounts receivable, billing review, cash application, and customer collections.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the complete AR process, can confidently research credits and debits, and enjoys improving procedures within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, comfortable using technology and AI tools, and capable of identifying discrepancies before they affect customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounts receivable for B2B customer accounts.

• Review automatically generated invoices for accuracy and supporting documentation before they are issued.

• Conduct customer collections and follow up on past-due balances.

• Review AR aging and prioritize collection activity.

• Post check payments and accurately apply cash to customer accounts.

• Research and resolve unapplied payments, credits, credit memos, short payments, overpayments, and billing discrepancies.

• Demonstrate a solid understanding of debits and credits when analyzing customer account activity.

• Maintain accurate billing and customer account information in QuickBooks Online.

• Respond to customer questions and resolve invoice-related issues professionally and promptly.

• Partner with Operations, Sales, and Accounting to ensure billing information is accurate.

• Identify opportunities to improve billing, collections, and cash-application processes.

• Assist with documenting procedures and creating or updating standard operating procedures.

• Use AI and other technology tools to improve efficiency, research account issues, and streamline routine processes.

Qualifications

• At least four years of billing and accounts receivable experience.

• Strong full-cycle AR and collections experience, preferably within a B2B environment.

• Experience reviewing system-generated invoices for accuracy.

• Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online from a billing and accounts receivable perspective.

• Strong understanding of debits, credits, payment application, and customer account reconciliation.

• Experience posting check payments and resolving unapplied cash.

• Exposure to process improvement and creating or updating SOPs.

• Comfortable using AI tools and learning new technology.

• Strong critical-thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

• Professional communication and customer-service skills.
