General Summary The Sales Associate will assist in the receiving, stocking, pricing of all merchandise and help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Customer Service: Provide a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware; proactively assist customers in solving problems; greet and thank customers; maintain a friendly outgoing demeanor; answer all calls promptly, courteously and effectively; forward unresolvable complaints to management; possess strong product knowledge and store layout knowledge; assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service. Store Operations: Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment; receive, check in, and stock merchandise; maintain back‑stock levels; keep the sales floor, stock room and outdoor area orderly and clean; manage end caps and ad merchandise; perform merchandise resets through the store; assist department specialists with price changes and special orders; ensure signage is current; operate forklift with proper training; communicate store‑support issues and merchandising, cost‑control or sales ideas to the General Manager; participate in store meetings; maintain a professional appearance and actions; perform other duties as assigned. Other Essential Requirements Ability to exhibit and incorporate the company’s core values—WINNING, EXCELLENCE, LOVE, INTEGRITY, GRATITUDE, HUMILITY, and TEAMWORK—into daily decisions and interactions with others. Minimum Skills, Requirements and Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent. Formal retail experience preferred. Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 25 lbs) and climb.
