About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: OR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - 2 years current experience in an acute OR setting - Ortho, spine, and joint replacement experience, specifically knee and hip replacement Description: 4 Day Schedule Operating Room unit with 29 beds Staff varies based on volume, typically includes 1 Charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 2 Techs, and a clinical coordinator Day Shift staffing includes 1 Charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 2 Techs, and a clinical coordinator Night Shift staffing includes 1 Charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 2 Techs, and a clinical coordinator Patient ratios are 3:1 Typical equipment includes X-rays, preoperative tools, anesthesiologist, lab equipment, electrocardiography, and EKG EMR used is Meditech Typical procedures performed include joint replacement, ENT, orthopedic surgeries, spine procedures, urology, vascular, podiatry, thoracic surgery, and plastic surgery Ideal candidates are dedicated and have patient care experience Candidates should be reliable, proficient in charting, and possess critical thinking skills A passion for nursing and excellent bedside manner are important Dress Code: Acceptable scrub colors are navy blue or royal blue Surgical type scrubs are not acceptable Candidates must be able to scrub and circulate across all service lines Rotating weekends may be required On-call requirements include 2 weeknight calls, 2 weekend 24-hour calls, and 1 holiday 24-hour call, if applicable Awards and recognition include accreditation as a Gold Seal facility and recognition for excellence in stroke care and cardiology services.
