Hospitalist Physician

Provides hospital-based clinical and administrative services involving primary medical care to patients in an internal medicine practice setting.

• Provides internal medicine services at designated hospital.
• Provides in-hospital patient care and consultations as required.
• When assigned to York Hospital: ? Participates in non-traditional inpatient services such as admitting/managing patients at Select Specialty Hospital and in the pre-surgical assessment program and others as the need arises. ? Assists with the operation of the resident and medical student teaching program for the Department of Medicine. ? May assist with resident recruitment and evaluation as required.

• Participates in Medical Staff activities as required and/or as requested.
• Observes the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Hospital and the Medical Staff.
• Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
• Participates in performance improvement programs and Clinical Effectiveness Teams (CETs) and other WellSpan initiatives as requested.
• Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
