Cafeteria Monitor – Breakfast & Lunch Location: Banneker Elementary School, Kansas City, Kansas Starting Date: Immediately Job Goal The Cafeteria Monitor supervises the students at breakfast and lunch, enforcing responsible behavior in the lunchroom. To accomplish these tasks, the Monitor works closely with the staff and administration of the District. Essential Functions Supervise breakfast and lunch periods to ensure appropriate and responsible behavior Ensure all activities conform to District guidelines Communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with members of the school district and community React to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner, meeting deadlines as assigned Implement the vision and mission of the District Encourage responsible behavior Observe and follow all school district policies at all times Respond to information requests in a cooperative, courteous, and timely manner Implement and follow all District health and safety policies, including precautions from the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal Other duties as assigned Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Physical Demands Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk and/or hear. Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and push items of 50 pounds such as a bike or wheelchair, or moving/rearranging furniture. Work Environment The noise level is usually loud.
