Radiologic Technologist (nights)

Full‑time Radiologic Technologist – Night Shift (Roanoke, VA) Responsibilities Apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Assess patients before, during, and after procedures according to CMC Guidelines. Position and evaluate patients to obtain quality images with professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience, and safety. Perform IV contrast injections, urinary catheterizations, and other required procedures. Observe patients for adverse reactions and provide assistance when necessary. Operate fluoroscopic and radiographic equipment, including CR (Computed Radiography) and DR (Digital Radiography). Use PACS and assist with scheduling, registration, file management, and EMR entries. Train students and staff as assigned. Provide specific patient‑care functions and ensure informed consent and patient education. Communicate with physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital personnel. Cross‑train basic laboratory phlebotomy and operate laboratory test equipment under CLIA regulations (site specific). Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures. Evaluate lab results, patient history, and relay findings to the radiologist or performing physician. Record and maintain all procedural data. Perform imaging procedures in Emergency Department, Inpatient, and Operating Room settings, including trauma care and IV contrast injections. Assist physician during radiological or sterile diagnostic procedures. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology required. No prior experience required. Licensure, certification, and/or registration: ARRT registry or registry eligible. AHA BLS-HCP life‑support certification required.
