Under general supervision promotes breastfeeding to pregnant women and provides support to breastfeeding mothers enrolled in the WIC Program.

• Contact WIC Breastfeeding moms by clinic, phone calls, text messages, emails, letters or hospital visits within 1-7 days and 8-14 days after delivery to provide breastfeeding support. Use the script for after-delivery contacts as a guide.
• Make a contact by clinic, phone calls, text messages, emails, letters or hospitals once a week for the next three (3) weeks after birth and a minimum of once a month thereafter as long as the mom is breastfeeding. Use the script for after-delivery contacts as a guide
• Refer breastfeeding moms/infants with complex breastfeeding situations to the breastfeeding coordinator.
• Make prenatal contacts at 16, 20, 24, 27, 31, 35, 39, 40 and 41 weeks gestation using Natural Nutrition resources. Use Script for Prenatal Contacts as a guide.
• Keep accurate records of all contacts made with WIC mothers. Maintain strict confidentiality of client information.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and relevant human services or social services experience.
