Nurse Practitioner (GI) Gastrointestinal - PRN

Job Overview Nurse Practitioner, (GI) Gastrointestinal – PRN. Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, Texas 75096. Work Hours: PRN, all days as needed to cover PTO and high census, weekdays and/or weekends. 10‑hour shifts. GI Department Highlights Working with a multidisciplinary team Opportunity to work with a diverse patient population High job satisfaction and sense of accomplishment from making a difference in patients’ lives Growing Advanced GI Service Line Current hospital expansion Education and Credentials Bachelor’s Degree – Graduate of an accredited nursing program (required) Master’s Degree – Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program (required) Experience 2 years as a Nurse Practitioner (required) At least 1 year of GI Nurse Practitioner experience (preferred) Licenses and Certifications RN – Registered Nurse (required) APRN – Advanced Practice Nurse (required) NP – Nurse Practitioner (required) BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support (required prior to independent patient care, maintained quarterly) ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (30 days preferred) Other credentials credentialed by Medical Staff Services (required) Responsibilities Utilize principles and skills in communication and interviewing techniques to obtain a comprehensive health history and formulate a plan of care. Apply advanced health assessment skills to differentiate normal and abnormal findings. Synthesize knowledge of physiology, pathology, culture, and socioeconomics to evaluate and provide therapeutic interventions. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes and promote continuity of care. Initiate actions to meet patients’ and families’ needs and reduce patient risks. Perform specialty‑specific technical procedures safely and proficiently. Produce documentation that initiates, follows, and revises patients’ plan of care. Promote adherence to clinical pathways, protocols, and policies for high reliability of the clinical program. Advance population health through evaluation of care delivery models related to community, environmental, cultural, and socioeconomic dimensions of health.
