The Warehouse Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate, efficient, and compliant movement of products within Thorne’s Inventory Warehouse Department. This position is responsible for receiving deliveries, relocating materials using forklift, pallet jack, order pickers, or putting up finished goods while strictly adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality and safety, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment. The Warehouse Material Handler collaborates with team members, maintains accurate documentation, operates material‑handling equipment, and supports overall workflow efficiency to ensure customers receive the correct products on time. Operating Schedule: 2nd Shift 3:00pm‑11:30am (+$1.25 Shift Differential)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Become knowledgeable of the applicable provisions of the Inventory Warehouse Department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and follow them. Continue to stay current as changes occur. Adhere to work schedule, start on time, complete assigned tasks promptly, and work overtime as required. Follow Inventory Warehouse Department policies and procedures and Thorne Research policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Pay attention to detail and complete paperwork accurately, neatly and fully. Become cross‑trained in the Inventory Warehouse areas and willingly work in different areas as assigned. Assist in performing daily inventory counts and maintain integrity of accountable supplies, ensuring quality is not compromised. Operate a wide variety of industrial warehouse equipment including a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, etc. to store, rotate or issue supplies on a daily basis. Achieve forklift certification. Issue the correct amount of raw material and packaging supplies, inspecting and labeling items as needed, and placing them in designated areas. Maintain cleanliness and organizational structure of the warehouse, using standard industrial practices (First In/First Out, labels facing out, items stored six inches off the floor, etc.). Ensure flow of warehouse activities while adhering to OSHA and localized safety standards. Demonstrate attention to detail in all aspects of providing materials for production orders and accurate completion of production paperwork. Physical Requirements Must be able to work an entire shift, and overtime as assigned, in a warehouse environment. Must be able to see and read small print. Must be able to hear and converse with supervisors and other employees. Must be able to operate, activate, use, prepare, and clean equipment, occasionally grasping with force and using twisting wrist movements. Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as circumstances arise during the course of a shift. Must be able to safely and carefully operate and use assigned equipment and machinery. Must be able to work in a stationary position as well as move about unassisted. Must be able to work in a moderate noise level environment. Must be able to move or lift items weighing up to 55 pounds from floor to table and from table to floor, often repetitively. Must have sufficient range of motion with arms and hands to reach overhead and to the side, often repetitively, during an assigned shift. Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder while carrying up to 20 pounds of materials.

WHAT YOU NEED

Minimum high school diploma or GED required. Prior warehouse experience preferred. Must be able to safely work with ingredients and products that are derived from possibly allergenic sources including nuts, soy, dairy, fish, and shellfish. Able to read and understand written directions in English, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and the Thorne Research Employee Handbook. Follow instructions, both verbal and written, and communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow employees. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in the units of measurement used in the Inventory Warehouse Department, using whole numbers and decimals (e.g., grams). Employee must be able to sufficiently concentrate to distinguish between 300+ product codes and individual product lot numbers to minimize inventory errors.
