Job Summary

Join a dedicated team as a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse at an acute care hospital in Lawrenceville, Georgia. This role involves providing high-acuity nursing care to critically ill adult patients within a dynamic and challenging environment, including those with complex medical conditions and potential COVID-19 diagnoses.

The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, intervention, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This is a travel nursing assignment designed for experienced ICU professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the MICU.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, including vital signs, neurological status, and hemodynamic parameters.
• Administer medications, blood products, and treatments as prescribed, including titratable vasoactive drips and continuous infusions.
• Operate and manage specialized medical equipment such as ventilators, IV pumps, and cardiac monitors.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies and changes in patient status.
• Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Previous experience in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) or COVID ICU.
