About This Role The RN Float position at Northwell Health involves providing comprehensive nursing care to a designated group of patients, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Highlights Location: Forest Hills, NY Schedule: Full-Time, Night shift What You'll Do Assess the patient's physiologic health status through interviews and chart reviews. Determine mobility, sensory deficits, and skin condition to adjust care plans. Assess level of pain and pain management. Communicate and document patient's physiologic health status and care plan. Elicit patient perceptions of care and determine coping mechanisms. Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes and identify potential problems. Formulate the plan of care and establish priorities for expected outcomes. Maintain vigilance over patient care to ensure safety precautions are followed. Administer prescribed treatments and medications correctly and safely. Provide patient and family education regarding conditions and care plans. Requirements Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment and obtain a BSN degree within five (5) years of employment date. Licenses & Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
