Position Cardiac Technologist – Day Shift (United States of America); Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0; Compensation: Union; Position: No; Department Details: Summary: Performs the duties of a cardiac technologist, including invasive cardiac and peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures, and electrophysiology (EP) procedures using sophisticated imaging, hemodynamic monitoring, and recording equipment to assess and treat cardiac and peripheral vascular disease. Responsibilities Monitor, record, and analyze the patient’s electrocardiogram (EKG) and intracardiac pressures. Assist the medical team with sterile procedures. Operate X‑ray equipment and other laboratory equipment. Run blood samples and obtain sterile supplies as needed. Provide care to patients of all ages, from newborn to geriatric. Perform EP procedures and manage related protocols and devices such as pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), and biventricular pacemakers. Ensure high‑quality care for patients with rhythm disturbances and cardiac arrhythmias. Apply knowledge of pharmacologic options for treating patients and understand conscious sedation protocols. Maintain expertise in cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, X‑ray techniques, and emergent and routine cardiac care. Update self and staff regarding EP protocols. Work with diverse client populations, including children to geriatrics, considering growth and development needs. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent experience. Expert knowledge of electrophysiology and cardiovascular technology, including pharmacology and advanced cardiac rhythm management. Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) credential through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required within 18 months of hire. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI preferred. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if applicable.
