Registered Nurse – Emergency Room / Adult Admission Unit

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Adult Admission Unit that functions as an Emergency Department holding unit, managing admitted patients until placement on a progressive care unit
• Monitor, interpret, and manage telemetry and dysrhythmias for a diverse patient population across all specialties except ICU-level acuity
• Manage frequent patient turnover, including both incoming admissions from the Emergency Department and outgoing transfers to inpatient units
• Operate and manage a variety of medical equipment while maintaining strong time management across a 1:4–5 patient ratio (17 beds plus up to 8 hall beds)
• Float as required to adjacent units including the Emergency Department for admitted patients, ICU for sub-acute care assignments, and inpatient PCU areas
• Serve as relief charge nurse as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (non-local applicants only; must be located outside a 100-mile radius)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; prior travel experience required for ER placement
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required (RQI certifications not accepted)
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and interpret telemetry and manage dysrhythmias
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records
• Willingness and ability to float within scope to meet facility needs across ED, ICU (SAC), and PCU areas

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience, particularly in an emergency or high-acuity admission setting
• Experience in a Level I Trauma, Teaching, or Acute Care hospital environment
• Familiarity with high patient-turnover environments and progressive care unit workflows
