Radiology Technologist

Job Overview MO-SSM Health St. Clare Hospital – Fenton offers a full‑time evening radiology technologist position (Mon–Fri 12:00–8:30PM). Sign‑on bonus up to $10,000, hourly pay starting at $28.06, and shift differentials of $2/hr for evening, night, weekend, and additional shifts. The role includes advanced diagnostic X‑ray, fluoroscopy, portable exams, OR imaging, and bone density (BD registry required). Must complete a radiology program and ARRT‑R within 6 months of hire. Flex scheduling and cross training are available. Key Responsibilities Explain procedures and provide appropriate educational material to patients. Transport patients to and from clinical areas and verify identity. Position patients and follow radiation‑safety procedures, preventing unnecessary exposure. Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice. Observe patients during procedures, report abnormal activity, and monitor protocols, recommending updates or refinements. Submit high‑quality images to PACS, ensuring correct lead markers and patient data. Ensure equipment functions properly, report malfunctions, and lock/tag out equipment if needed. Maintain a clean, orderly department (procedure rooms, storage, dressing rooms). May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT technologist is not on site. Perform other duties as assigned, maintaining alertness and safety. Qualifications & Requirements Completion of an accredited radiology technology program. No prior experience required. Physical ability to stand/walk for 8 hours, lift/push up to 25lb routinely, occasionally up to 50lb, and lift patients. Valid professional licenses/certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS HCP) and ARRT‑R Radiography (or ARRT‑BD Bone Density) as required for the state of employment (Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin). Can provide BD registry if required. Knowledge of radiation safety, contrast‑media handling, and imaging protocols.
