Counselor - Addictions Treatment - Flex / PRN

ATP has flexible shifts to fit your schedule and lifestyle. (ATP) Addiction Treatment Program is a 24-hour inpatient care for adults with substance use disorders. Services include medically monitored detoxification and rehabilitation; disease education; individual, group, and family counseling; introduction to peer self‑help groups; case management; psychiatric consultation; and continuing care. Our purpose is to instill hope for a productive life, free of drugs and alcohol. Flex Counselor Key Responsibilities Responsible for evaluating, assessing, and admitting clients. Prepare treatment plans and assessments for our clients, and provide individual, group, and family counseling as needed. Provides education and direction to clients, family members and/or significant others. Provides direct services to clients including individual and group treatment. Takes responsibility for training in and documenting clinical chart requirements to meet program and state standards. Responds to inquiries, gives appropriate information and referrals, and documents, if necessary. Conducts crisis intervention/evaluation/referral to persons in the community or who present themselves at the program; secures hospitalization, if necessary. Performs initial evaluations and assessments of potential clients regarding their appropriateness for participation in the program. Serves food to clients in residential programs. Maintains an awareness of and professional involvement/collaboration with community resources. Assists in facilitating transportation of clients. Available Shifts 7:00am-3:30pm 3:00pm-11:30pm 11:15pm-7:15am Flex employees must work a minimum of 80 hours per calendar year and be available to work one fixed or floating holiday each year, if needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED and 3 years of experience OR associate’s degree in a related field. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Professional Credentials Hold clinical certification as a CADC Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor from the Illinois Alcoholism and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA) or Be a licensed professional counselor or licensed clinical professional counselor pursuant to the Professional Counselor and Clinical Professional Counselor Licensing Act or Be a physician licensed to practice medicine in all its branches pursuant to the Medical Practice Act of 1987 or Be licensed as a psychologist pursuant to the Clinical Psychology Practice Act [225 ILCS 15] or Be licensed as a social worker or licensed clinical social worker pursuant to the Clinical Social Work and Social Work Practice Act [225 ILCS 20]. New professional staff who do not meet the above requirements at hire must meet the specified requirements within two years after employment. We believe services must be available without barriers.
