Overview

We are a healthcare organization specializing in pain intervention and ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs) that is currently on a strong growth trajectory. We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Financial Accountant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be a core part of our finance department, ensuring our day-to-day accounting operations run smoothly and accurately. You will take ownership of the accounts payable function, maintain our chart of accounts, and play a crucial, hands-on role in multi-entity consolidations and US GAAP audit compliance.

As our company continues to expand, this position offers a clear growth track to Accounting Manager and beyond for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable Management: Oversee and execute the entire AP process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense coding, and vendor payments.
• Full-Cycle Bookkeeping & Reconciliations: Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records by managing daily general ledger activities and performing comprehensive bank, credit card, and intercompany account reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting: Generate accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and custom management reports to support leadership decision-making.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and operational metrics to identify trends, investigate variances, and provide actionable insights into the company's financial health.
• Chart of Accounts: Maintain and optimize the company's chart of accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting and categorization across all entities.
• Multi-Entity Consolidation: Drive month-end and year-end close processes, including the accurate consolidation of financial statements across multiple business entities.
• Audit & Compliance: Ensure all financial records, reporting, and accounting processes strictly adhere to US GAAP. Actively prepare schedules, documentation, and reports for external audits.
• Experience: 2+ years of progressive accounting experience (candidates with a more extensive background and experience are highly encouraged to apply), ideally with exposure to multi-entity environments.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certifications: Active CPA license or CPA candidate is highly preferred (but not mandatory).
• Technical Knowledge: Strong practical grasp of US GAAP, comprehensive bookkeeping principles, financial analysis, and the mechanics of multi-entity consolidations.
• Systems & Tools: Required experience using QuickBooks Online. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, VLOOKUPs, Power Query) is essential for handling complex datasets and modeling.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, customer relationship management systems, referral tracking systems, and other business technology.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical, operational, administrative, and marketing teams.
• Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and healthcare compliance standards.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
• At least three years of experience in healthcare marketing, physician relations, referral development, business development, medical sales, or a related field.
• Experience within pain management, orthopedics, spine care, physical medicine, ambulatory surgery, or another medical specialty is preferred.
• Experience using referral management, customer relationship management, or healthcare reporting systems is preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, and travel between healthcare offices and community locations.

• Necessary visual acuity and communication abilities required for presentations, meetings, driving, and detailed administrative work.
• Ability to tolerate moderate noise levels and changing work environments.
