Automation Project Mgr

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Automation Project Manager for our ORCM Prod Ops Business Unit located in Kermit, Texas . Responsibilities Participates in TOTS and M&C project meetings Ensures engineering documentation is available for automation commissioning Facilitates alignment and allocation of manpower resources on projects Aligns PLC programming integrator resources to function test and validate all automation equipment on site (devices, LOIs, switches, RTUs, etc.) as per engineering design Collaborates with respective construction teams on site regarding IFC designs, verifies automation engineering design deliverables to site IFC and works to resolve discrepancies through automation engineering Communicates construction and commissioning issues with automation engineering and provides red‑lined documents where applicable Reports on project status and ensures commissioning documents and status reports are completed Collaborates with all project managers on facilities and M&C projects (Mechanical and Electrical scopes of work) Local Asset representative for Automation Team to Production Ops Business Unit Creates an environment where members of the team make the day‑to‑day decisions while providing the tools, training, and support needed to make those decisions Ensures working environment is conducive to meeting Business Unit’s production and safety targets Removes roadblocks and impediments, fosters process improvements with engineering Ensures compliance with Oxy standards and best practices Identifies and communicates design challenges and offers improvement suggestions to engineering Identifies and enhances inefficiencies of processes and control equipment Participates in continuous improvement teams Effectively engages with and utilizes resources internal and external of business unit Participates in technical reviews of assets and/or new business ventures Participates in annual and long‑term business planning Participates in staffing plans to ensure adequate staffing level to support business plans Participates in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of employees that fit the position & organization Assists in promoting the development of team members' professional and technical skills Assists in developing and/or managing programs, systems, and practices for maintaining & enhancing a safe, productive, and environmentally sound work environment Supports operations with training on automation control system functions Education 2‑year technical degree or equivalent working experience Experience & Qualifications Advanced knowledge of oil and gas automation systems 6+ years of oil field experience 2+ years of managerial experience preferred 2+ years of project management experience preferred Skills & Competencies In‑depth experience with managing New Development oil and gas facilities/projects In‑depth experience with managing Maintenance and Construction projects Valued contributor to business analysis and planning at all levels Strong communication skills (verbal/written/listening/presentation) Problem solving skills with ability to analyze and recommend solutions to high‑complexity problems Understanding of Surface Production Equipment and process system controls General knowledge of Surface Team, Reservoir Team, Downhole Team, Risk / AI team, IT and HSE Advanced level competency in oil and gas automation systems Visionary for process improvement and development of new technologies Ability to complete staffing plans to ensure adequate staffing levels to support the business plan Ability to develop professional and technical skills through coaching, feedback, and training All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, disability status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, citizenship status or any other basis as protected by federal, state, or local law. #J-18808-Ljbffr Oxy
