Electric Motor Mechanic

Overview We are seeking an experienced Electric Motor Mechanic to join a repair shop specializing in rotating equipment. This role involves the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and testing of AC/DC electric motors, generators, pumps, gearboxes, and related industrial equipment. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, mechanically skilled, and capable of contributing immediately, with potential for a lead role based on experience. Key Responsibilities Disassemble and inspect electric motors, generators, pumps, and gearboxes Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures using testing and inspection tools Perform bearing removal and installation Measure and document critical dimensions, fits, and tolerances. Clean, repair, and replace damaged components. Conduct electrical testing (Insulation Resistance/Megger, Surge Comparison, Winding Resistance) Perform shop repairs and occasional field service work at customer sites. Qualifications Experience with electric motor repair or rotating equipment required Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to read and interpret technical measurements and specifications Experience with testing equipment preferred Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship Lead experience is a plus and may qualify for higher pay.
