Job Description
Certified Medical Assistant - Gastroenterology

Schedule:
Full-time, day shift positions, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Assignment Details:
Contract Length: 143 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: TBD

Requirements:
- At least 2 years in a formal Medical Assistant curriculum, special training for Medical Assistants.
- At least 3 years of demonstrated relevant experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical setting.
- Must maintain certification as a Medical Assistant.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical support procedures under the direct supervision of the Office Nurse or Physician.
- Conduct blood draws, injections, child immunizations, lab tests, and other pertinent procedures within the scope of MA certification.
- Assist physicians during examinations by taking vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse.
- Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in exam rooms.
- Manage patient phone calls and provide instructions to patients as directed by the physician.
- Assist with the maintenance of medical records, including referrals, lab slips, and other documentation as requested.
- Support patients in preparation for exams and treatments, and assist with nursing procedures as directed by the physician.

- Emotional stability and discretion in handling confidential matters are required.
