Schertz, United States | Posted on 01/08/2026 Job Description About the Opportunity We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant for a 6‑month contract position starting as soon as possible with an established dental practice in Schertz, TX. Employment Type: Contract (6 months) Schedule: Flexible – Part time or Full time Hours: 20–50 hours per week (based on availability) Location: Schertz, TX Key Responsibilities Assist dentist during various dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments. Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms. Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays). Prepare materials for impressions and restorations. Provide chairside assistance and ensure patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation. Manage infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment. Educate patients on post‑treatment care and oral hygiene. Perform front office duties as needed, including scheduling and patient communication. Requirements Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on dental assisting experience, OR recent graduate of an accredited dental assisting program. Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures. Understanding of infection control and sterilization procedures. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment. Professional, friendly demeanor with patients of all ages. Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain). Preferred but Not Required Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification. Experience with dental practice management software.
