Security Engineer, SIEM

Our client is seeking a skilled Security Engineer with strong hands-on experience in SIEM platforms and a solid IT/Security background. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining security monitoring and response solutions, with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Sentinel. This is a hybrid position based in New York, NY. Starting at $50/hour. Security Engineer's Responsibilities and Duties: Design, implement, and maintain security monitoring solutions using SIEM platforms, particularly Microsoft Sentinel. Create and manage Sentinel rules, workbooks, playbooks, data connectors, and analytics to detect and respond to security threats. Monitor and analyze security events, performing incident response as needed. Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate security solutions across cloud and on-premises environments. Provide recommendations to strengthen security posture and ensure compliance with best practices. Support hybrid Azure AD and cloud security initiatives, including Azure fundamentals implementation. Security Engineer's Qualifications and Skills: At least 3 years of hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, preferably Microsoft Sentinel. At least 7 years of experience in IT/Security, ideally with a strong infrastructure background. Experience with rule creation, playbooks, workbooks, data connectors, and analytics in Sentinel. Familiarity with Azure fundamentals and hybrid Azure AD environments. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
