Job Description

Job Title: Assistant/Associate Principal

Department: Custer Baker Intermediate School

Assignment: Administrative Position


Supervised by: Principal

Purpose: Provide leadership and support to the educational process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervise curriculum development

2. Assist in the planning and developing of professional learning communities

3. Grade-level monitoring teacher's evaluation schedule and protocol

4. Co-coordinate state testing

5. Prepare standardized testing data collection and reporting

6. Represent CBIS in district-related curriculum and planning

7. Co-Chair School Improvement Committee

8. Serve as grade-level Public Agency Representative for case conferences

9. Assist the principal with concerns and issues involving parents, students, and faculty.

10. Co-coordinate New Teacher Orientation

11. Responsible for hiring and evaluating classified staff

12. Coordinate professional development

13. Supervise student activities (Athletic Events, Concerts, Dances, etc.)

14. Grade level student discipline

15. Building supervision

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Must have an Indiana principal's license

• Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university

• Successful classroom teaching experience

• Skill in organizing and managing resources and establishing priorities

• Conflict resolution and /or mediation skills
