Position Details

• Job Title: Medical Assistant II
• Location: Roseland, NJ (Onsite)
• Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Remote Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Pay Rate: $22-$24 per hour/ based on experience
• Employment Type: Contract (W2)

Position Overview The Medical Assistant II will support physicians and clinical staff by assisting with patient examinations, administering routine clinical procedures, and providing front office support. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment while delivering exceptional patient service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient examinations and treatments.
• Obtain and document vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed.
• Conduct EKGs and assist with other routine clinical procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system.
• Prepare and clean examination rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Answer incoming calls and assist with patient inquiries.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
• Provide professional, compassionate customer service to patients and visitors.
• Assist with general administrative and front desk responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

• Experience as a Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN.
• Phlebotomy experience and ability to perform blood draws.
• Experience performing EKGs.
• Prior medical office or clinical experience.
• Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a physician practice, clinic, or outpatient setting.
• Front desk, patient scheduling, and insurance verification experience.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control procedures.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Practical Nursing, or Registered Nursing program preferred.
• Relevant healthcare experience may be considered in lieu of formal certification.
