Group Fitness Manager – Full Time, Hourly Location: 7614 150th St W, Apple Valley, MN 55124 Reports to: Managing Partner Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Group Fitness Manager who will recruit, train, and oversee a team of fitness instructors at Crunch Fitness. The role supports existing clubs while contributing to the expansion and operational excellence of new locations. What You’ll Do The Senior Group Fitness Coordinator will assist other Group Fitness Coordinators as a leader in people and processes. Responsibilities include recruiting passionate instructors, managing class schedules, ensuring high class quality, and fostering a positive, growth‑oriented team culture. The Coordinator will support both home clubs and market‑wide initiatives. What Success Looks Like Fully staffed, high‑performing instructor team delivering energetic, on‑brand classes with strong attendance and member engagement. Schedules and programming run smoothly, with accurate submissions, consistent coverage, and minimal last‑minute changes. Instructors are well recruited, thoroughly onboarded, clearly directed, and regularly developed, creating a positive, accountable, and growth‑minded culture. Class quality is consistently high; feedback and performance issues are addressed early, improving the member experience and team performance. You are a visible club leader who embodies Crunch culture, collaborating with management, championing initiatives, and proving that high standards and positive energy go hand in hand. About You Leading by example, you encourage collaboration while maintaining focus on results. You make rational, timely decisions while upholding performance standards. Your communication is clear, and you maintain steady progress toward team goals. You balance urgency with professionalism and read situations well, demonstrating resilience and consistency in demanding environments. Responsibilities Lead upgrades for Base to Peak Memberships to engage, retain, and promote members sales and retention in the department. Recruit, train, and oversee the development of a team of class instructors. Maintain instructor certifications and ensure safety of members with current qualifications. Oversee the Class‑ic Training Program for all zones (Ride, HIIT, Large Group Fitness, Boxing, Hot Yoga). Respond to member issues concerning group fitness classes and training program. Distribute and maintain current club schedules at gym location; ensure all classes are covered and facilitate sub procedures. Report class tracking numbers daily; manage payroll on a daily and bi‑weekly reporting schedule. Submit quarterly schedule changes to VP of Group Fitness for budgets, quality, and accuracy. Complete override and holiday schedules timely to align with marketing and company deadlines. Facilitate implementation of new programming and events, promoting them within and outside the gym. Collaborate with Director of Group Fitness for new and replacement equipment needs. Maintain cleanliness of all zones and promptly communicate any maintenance issues. Manage quarterly staff meetings for onsite training and new quarter class rollout. Lead communication cadence: weekly emails, monthly video conference calls with other clubs, and in‑house quarterly training. Attend daily meetings with GM/MP/AGMs to discuss communication, events, instructors, and any issues. Attend monthly Coordinator calls with Regional Crunch Team of GFCs and all mandatory meetings. Provide updates for social media and instructor portal as needed. Supervise all group fitness publicity at club level; ensure informational materials are current. Conduct Core 4 onboarding for all new hires with 2‑week integration period. Manage daily huddles and staff meetings; conduct one‑on‑one sessions with Director of Group Fitness weekly. Participate in bi‑weekly GFC calls and monthly national coordinator calls. Attend continued training and hold GFI quarterly training. Support Local Store Manager activities and be aware of facility items affecting GF zones. Track KPIs on GF utilization, Peak percentage, and cost per attendance. Update weekly HLA reports and coordinate cross‑functional efforts. Support new store opening: training new GFC on roles, responsibilities, and shadowing; assist in hiring, training, teaching, facility readiness, and administrative scheduling. Teaching (Minimal 4‑10 Hours) Set quarterly schedule to teach in multiple zones, at least 4 hours per week but not exceeding 10 hours. Be available to sub and ensure class coverage when regular instructor is unavailable. Set an example with teaching and attendance for group fitness instructor staff. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience creating group fitness schedules. Preferred experience teaching classes for clients of all levels (boot‑camp, kickboxing, Zumba, TRX, sculpt, yoga, Pilates, cycle, POUND, HIIT). Experience with budget and expense management preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required. Nationally Accredited Group Fitness Certification required (AFAA, ACE, or NASM preferred). CPR/AED certification required (obtainable within 30 days of hire). Physical Requirements Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs occasionally. Prolonged standing and walking required. Education Requirements Maintain valid CPR/AED Certification. Nationally Accredited Group Fitness Certification (AFAA, ACE, or NASM preferred). Travel No travel required. Compensation (Hourly) Administrative rate: $15‑$18 per hour. Teaching rate: $35 per hour.
